Senior Electrical Engineer
(Req #2010-05)

Azonix Corporation has an immediate opening for a Sr. Electrical Engineer (SEE) at its Billerica, MA headquarters.  Azonix, a division of Crane Co., designs, manufacturers, packages and markets, engineered rugged computing solutions for specific niche applications in the Oil and Gas exploration, Automation, and Military markets

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who will be a critical member of our design/technical team.   The ideal candidate will have high speed digital and analog design experience along with firmware proficiency on at least one current embedded micro-controller platform. A working understanding of the operation of high speed digital interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, IDE etc. is required along with a general understanding of both analog and digital video interface architectures.  Experience in designing to MIL & DOD electrical standards, as well as EMC requirements, is highly desired.

This individual must be able to perform as both a Technical Lead and/or Design Team Member executing electrical designs; which includes writing specification documents, independently executing designs/solutions, conducting thorough design reviews, completing comprehensive qualification testing and validation, and be able to follow a rigorous new product release process. This individual must also be able to work and share ideas cross functionally, across the organization and multiple sites. 

The ideal candidate will have a BSEE (MSEE preferred) and 6+ years experience in electronics design, which must include experience in schematic entry, electrical design layout & simulation, and use of high speed test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.  A proven ability to work in a team environment is a must, with strong communications skills; both oral and written.  Moderate travel will be required. Experience managing projects and projects teams is preferred.  Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules and regulations).

**Please note this position does not offer relocation. We will only consider local candidates or candidates who are willing to relocate to the Billerica area on their own.

Specific Skills Should Include

- Firmware development of the Genesis Microchip Family or similar video scaler/controller ASIC architecture
- VHDL development on Xilinx Spartan family FPGA's for video or related applications
- Analog and Digital Electrical design for video processing systems including A/D & D/A architectures and high speed digital video interfaces inc DVI and HDMI
- Switched mode power supply design and layout
- Digital Memory and CPU core logic design, plus general I/O inc. UARTS, Serial, USB, Ethernet, etc.
- High Speed Mixed signal design and validation
- Test software and logic simulation using VisualC++ or similar software development tools
- Micro-code and assembly code for common uProcessors such as PIC, Atom, 68xxx, etc.
