AZONIX & LOCKHEED MARTIN Seawolf Announcement

Billerica, MA (May 18, 2009)

Azonix Corporation, a leading provider of ruggedized display and workstation solutions, announced entering into an agreement with Lockheed Martin, MS2 in Syracuse NY - a business unit within the Lockheed Martin's Electronic Systems business area.   This agreement will allow Azonix Corporation to design and to manufacture the next generation of intelligent displays for the Seawolf class of submarines.  This new design provides enhanced performance along with lower power consumption than the existing displays and will significantly improve the available up-time for mission critical applications.  Low power and high reliability are essential features for submarine displays, where missions can extend for months and the access to replacement units may not exist.  This flat panel display will be used in three areas of the ship; the Ship Control System, Weapons Stowage and Handling System and the Data Distribution System, all mission-critical functions.  

These new Flat Panel Displays are part of Azonix' growing product portfolio of military display products designed to meet or exceed all required MIL-STDs for shock, vibration, salt, fog, drip, fungus, acoustic noise and Electro-Magnetic Compliance (EMC).  "Our engineering team really stepped up to the plate in overcoming the environmental challenges this new design required," said Mike D'Ottavio, Military Business Segment Director, "This unit gives the Commanding Officer and crew real time data to safely maneuver the ship along with controlling the deployment of its weapon systems.  This is an area where our extensive experience in producing extreme environment designs really pays off."

The first engineering development models will be delivered as scheduled to Lockheed Martin in the summer of 2009 and begin the low rate initial production in Q1 2010.
